Garret Dupper Bio
I was born and raised in western Colorado on the outskirts of Grand Junction at our family farm. Over the years we have had all kinds of animals including emus, chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, pigeons, doves, quail, peafowl, zebra finches, fish, gerbils, dogs, cats, horses, cattle, a llama, goats, sheep, and so much more. I attended several private academies for education including Intermountain Adventist Academy and Life Academy. For college I attended Union College in Lincoln, NE where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science with an emphasis in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and a minor in Small Business Management. After graduating Union, I got accepted to Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Staying active in the community has always been a passion of mine. From an early age I became the president of the 4-H club I was in. After that I took on leadership roles in the Mesa County 4-H Horse Council and Mesa County 4-H Leadership Council. I also had the honor to serve as a Mesa County Fair Ambassador for five years. From there I became involved in several leadership positions in college such as a social committee member and eventually becoming the social vice-president of the college. Outside of vet school my hobbies include model horses, animal reproduction, and bluegrass music. Back in 2020 I started getting more involved with Bluegrass music. From there my idea of hosting a Bluegrass festival in western Colorado was born. As my idea progressed and a team was formed, it officially took on the name of Pickin’ in The Rockies. I am super excited about this festival and cannot wait to continue growing it.

Melissa Anchondo Bio
Although I traveled all around as a child, the Grand Valley has always been home! I’m 4th generation of the valley and plan to continue raising my son Carter here as well. As a family, we love the outdoors hiking, fishing and camping, but more than that love spending time spoiling my 4-legged fur babies. We look forward to raising Carter here in the valley as this is our home.
I have spent most of my working life working with animals and know that I always will in some manner. Animals hold a huge piece of my heart, and I am drawn to their undevoted love and compassion. However, I have found a new passion in helping others find their perfect dream home, their first home or help sell their home in hopes to find where they want to call home.
